Duties Description Function as a receptionist in a busy administrative hearing site: • Check in appellants and authorized representatives for their in-person and/or telephonic hearing and notify the Administrative Law Judge.• Collect and review 457s, print and provide appellants and/or representatives documents such as 457, evidence packets, or a DAFH. • Communicate with appellants and representatives clearly and politely.• Interview appellants and representatives to gather required information.• Identify an appellant’s or representative’s needs and answer questions.• Deescalate appellant.• Utilize systems (FHIS, WMS, eMedNY) to call appellants and/or representatives prior to a scheduled fair hearing. • Enter comments in systems of record.• Explain basic process steps, direct action, and reset expectations.• Complete and electronically transmit required forms, documents, and evidence and notify an administrative supervisor or a Supervising Hearing Officer when needed.• Advise Liaison Unit of any changes to fair hearing records for upcoming scheduled hearings. • Maintain satisfactory records of attendance and punctuality.
