Job Title: Wound Ostomy RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Wound Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, WOCN Must-Have: National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy Certification Description: The Wound Ostomy RN will provide specialized care in wound management. The position will require floating between different units. No on-call or weekend shifts are required. Block scheduling is expected, specifically a Wednesday through Friday schedule. The expected patient ratios will be 10-12. The patient population may include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 54 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy and social services. The nurse will be responsible for assessing and managing a variety of wound types and ostomy care. Skills required include knowledge of wound care products and techniques. The role may involve teaching patients and families about care procedures. The position supports a diverse range of patient diagnoses, such as CVA, TBI, and amputations. The nurse must be adaptable to the needs of different units.
