Job Description

Job Summary

A Catholic Elementary School Teacher is responsible for fostering a Christ-centered, academically excellent learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth of each student. The teacher will integrate Catholic values into all aspects of education, maintain high academic standards, and uphold the mission and vision of the school in alignment with the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS).

Job Responsibilities

Faith Formation & Integration

  • Model Catholic values and foster a faith-centered, inclusive environment.

  • Incorporate faith principles into lessons and school activities.

  • Participate in liturgies, prayer services, and religious events.

Instructional Excellence

  • Develop standards-based, engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum and NSBECS.

  • Use varied teaching strategies and integrate technology to support diverse learners.

  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.

Student Development

  • Support students’ spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth.

  • Maintain high expectations for conduct and achievement.

  • Use assessments to track progress and provide feedback.

Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

  • Participate in school events and service projects.

  • Model faith, service, and academic excellence.

Professional Growth

  • Pursue ongoing professional development and collaboration.

  • Reflect on practice and seek continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Valid teaching credential or certification appropriate for elementary education.

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

  • Strong knowledge of Catholic teachings and a commitment to faith-based education.

  • Experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably in a Catholic school.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance instruction.
