Job Description

GD Resources LLC is seeking qualified Security Officers / Security Guards to provide supplemental security services in support of the VA Police Service at the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS).

Security personnel will be responsible for maintaining safety, order, and access control across hospital and outpatient clinic environments while ensuring full compliance with federal, VA, and facility-specific security protocols.

Security officers will be responsible for providing continuous on-site protection services , including but not limited to:

• Conducting patrols of medical center and CBOC facilities
• Operating entry control posts and verifying personnel identification
• Performing traffic control and managing pedestrian/vehicle flow
• Responding to panic and duress alarms and assisting in incident resolution
• Supporting emergency response situations (medical, fire, civil disturbances, etc.)
• Maintaining law and order within assigned VA facilities
• Reporting unauthorized access attempts and notifying VA Police when required
• Completing incident reports, logs, and daily activity documentation
• Identifying and reporting hazardous conditions or safety concerns
• Assisting with facility security checks (doors, lighting, access points)
• Supporting behavioral health escort duties for flagged patients when required
• Assisting VA Police during enforcement actions when directed
• Participating in emergency drills and preparedness exercises
• Conducting parking census surveys at designated facilities when assigned

• Additional CBOC locations throughout San Diego County

• Coverage required across multiple shifts (5:30 AM 6:00 PM and extended posts where applicable)
• Some sites require 24-hour security coverage
• Security posts must remain continuously staffed with no gaps in coverage
• Federal holidays excluded per contract requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass federal background investigation and VA suitability screening
• Clean criminal history (no felony convictions within last 10 years)
• Physically fit and able to perform standing patrols and emergency response duties
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
• Professional demeanor in healthcare and patient care environments

• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Experience in hospital, healthcare, or federal facility security
• Familiarity with access control systems and incident reporting procedures
• CPR / First Aid / emergency response training
• Strong customer service and de-escalation skills
