We're looking for candidates with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service while driving strong sales. Key qualities include excellent people and sales skills, attention to detail in keeping merchandise organized, ensuring the floor is always well-stocked, and providing seamless checkout experiences at the register.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nGreet and assist customers promptly: Approach and acknowledge customers immediately, providing assistance and handling multiple customers efficiently.\nUnderstand and meet customer needs: Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.\nPromote store events and promotions: Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.\nResolve customer concerns: Address customer issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.\nCommunicate needs to management: Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and any customer feedback in a timely manner.\nSupport team and company goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nAt least 16 years old\nAvailable to work a flexible schedule\nComfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)\nGood communicator with the ability to engage with customers\nAble to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally\nUse basic information-gathering skills to solve problems\nAbility to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on- the-job training\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\n\nFrequently operate cash register\nFrequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet\nFrequently ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock\nFrequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor\nFrequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations\nFrequently move across the sales floor assisting customers, as well as to and from the stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise\nAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require day, evening, weekends and may include overnight shifts and travel (as required) \nMust be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures\nMust be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time
