Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Location: Anchorage, AK

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Schedule

• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 Weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Block Scheduling: Not Available
• Limited On-Call Coverage for Call-Offs Only

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. The RN will support mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care while collaborating closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to labor and delivery patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and communicate changes promptly to providers
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
• Perform patient assessments and maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic EMR
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines
• Float to like units within scope of practice when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program required

Certifications & Licensure

• Active Alaska RN License required prior to offer
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Additional specialty certifications preferred

• Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
• Time-off requests must be submitted with application
