A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to work in the areas of cancer biology at University of California, Irvine. The lab focuses on tumor suppressors and oncogenes in regulating tissue homeostasis as well as their dysregulations involved in tumor initiation and progression. One major focus of the lab is the Hippo pathway, which is known for its key roles in organ size control and cancer development.
We use multi-disciplinary approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, mouse genetics, and large-scale proteomics to investigate the Hippo pathway in normal physiology, stress response, and cancer. For details, please see our related publications (Genes Dev 2012, Mol Cell Proteomics 2014, Nat Cell Biol 2015, Dev Cell 2015, Mol Syst Biol 2015, Cell Rep 2015, Cell Rep 2016, Mol Cell Proteomics 2016, Cell Rep 2017, EMBO J 2017, Oncogene 2018, Mol Cell 2018, EMBO J 2020, Cell Rep 2020, Dev Cell 2021, Nat Cell Biol 2022, Mol Cell Proteomics 2022, Mol Cell 2023, Nat Commun 2024, Genes Dev 2026) and the lab website We have a track record of training the best postdoctoral fellows to become independent principal investigators in different countries.
We are now seeking a self-motivated and independent candidate with excellent research training in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or cancer biology. We prefer candidates who are about to graduate with PhD or MD/PhD degree or have graduated within the last 12 months. A track record of excellent first author publication(s) is required. The salary and benefit will follow the NIH standard.
