Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Part-Time Library Assistant in Chino, CA to support daily library operations and help create a welcoming experience for visitors. The Part-Time Library Assistant will assist visitors, help maintain an organized library space, support circulation activities, and work closely with a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities

- Welcome patrons and provide courteous, helpful assistance with general library needs.
- Support daily circulation activities, including checking materials in and out and helping maintain accurate records.
- Shelve, organize, and maintain library materials to keep the space neat, accessible, and easy to navigate.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, orderly, and inviting library environment for guests of all ages.
- Respond to patron questions and direct visitors to appropriate resources, services, or staff members.
- Work collaboratively with library staff to support daily operations and community-focused service goals.

- Pay rate: $20.56 per hour.
- Job type: Part time.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support daily library operations and patron service activities.
- Assist with circulation, organization, and maintenance of library materials.
- Provide friendly customer service in a public-facing environment.
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and organized experience for library visitors.

- 1 to 2 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, library support, or a related public-facing role.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, helpful approach to working with visitors.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm, courteous, and accurate.
- Dependable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support a community-centered workplace.
- Comfortable standing, walking, shelving materials, and staying active during assigned shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a library, school, community center, bookstore, or similar service-focused environment.
- Familiarity with basic library procedures, circulation systems, or catalog organization.
