Job Description and Duties

Under administrative direction of the Deputy Executive Officer, the Manager II oversees CalVCB’s Legislative Affairs, Grants, Investigations, and Quality Assurance Units by providing direction, conducting policy research and development, and performing supervisory duties. The Manager II will lead the planning and implementation of the work in these four units and will represent the department in external meetings with agency, legislative staff, and stakeholders. The incumbent has major independence for decisions that could impact the Executive Officer’s and CalVCB’s reputation. The consequence of error is high if information is not accurate, timely, or effectively distributed.

T his position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Special Requirements

Location

CalVCB is located at 400 R Street in downtown Sacramento, blocks from the light rail and public transportation and within walking distance to restaurants, Sacramento River levee bike trail, the State Capitol, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50 and Highway 80.
